What do you hope will change/improve for the family who will live in the house we helped to build? How has this service project changed you?

Food, shelter, and clothes are the three main necessities for a stable life, and we've improved one of the three essential necessities so it would bring a big change to their lives. They (hopefully) wouldn't have to worry about leaky roofs or the house shaking on windy days. The experience changes me as well. When i saw the smile on the family's faces, it made me understand that people like us, people that arent even adults, could have a huge impact on someone else's life. It made me feel like I've actually genuinely done something to contribute to the global community.

I hope that the quality of life for the family will improve and that life will become a bit more enjoyable for them. I also hope that it will raise the spirits of the entire family but especially the kids. I really hope that things become increasingly easier for the family, that building them this house is the first big step to creating a better environment for their children and to help themselves become more stable. This project has made me a lot more humble about myself and really has opened my eyes to what it means to have literally nothing. It has really put things into perspective for me and made me extremely thankful for the life that I am living now.

I hope the hosue will bring the family a whole new life. They could stay in a more stable shelter, no need to worry about it being destoyed during the rain season or leaking rooftops. It could also protect them from harmful bugs, and also offered them a clearer shelter. Most importantly, I hope the house could bring the family more happiness and tie them closer. I have also changed during the 3-day construction. Except becoming darker, I gained some kind of self-atuallization. Even though we are only 16 or 17 years old teenagers, we can change the life for a whole family. Do not given up good things though they may be minor matters. This is a famous Chinese philosophy. In our daily life, we should not underestimate the value of our existence. If everyone could do a small thing, and we assemble these small things together, the world will be changed.

I think the whole point of building a house for the family is to provide them a better, safer living condition. Just looking at the house that they used to live in, I can see what they had to worry about. An incomplete roof, a small space for a big family, these problems that they have make us care about them and want to help them more. I hope that they will have good sleeps from now on in their new house. I hope that they will have better food to eat from now on. Most importantly, the house that we built is a symbol of our care for them. It represents our love and willingness to help. I think that could be a motivation for the family. Not only the house has changed the family, but also me. Three days ago, I was a guy who didn't even know how to hold a saw. Now, I can cut a piece of wood without being worried about cutting my own fingers. I've learned skills. This house also let me know how happy it makes me to help other people. It has made me realized that the true happiness comes from giving care to other people.

I hope this family will have a good future. This activity let me learned i should cherish the present life and how to built a house. As we can see that family just live in a hut I'm very happy that they have a chance to live in a house, When i was tire to build the house, i see these little kids are very happy to live in the new house, at that moment i feel my tire is disappear and it make to be more stronger. Hope they will happily ever after.

I hope with all the things we donated as well as all this work we have put into the house that the family will live a better life, as well as keep all of their family members alive and safe. Although our work was only a pittance of what could've been done, I think that to the family we helped, it means a lot. Along with hoping that they have better conditions themselves, I also hope that the family can help others in need that are near them, so that as many people as possible are helped. This project has changed me because it made me appreciate how lucky I am. When I looked at the living conditions of the family we helped, I realized these people's lives and families are so similar to ours (they have the same kind of love to their children and families, they have the same will to live on and survive, etc.), but so different as well (their lives are full of tragedies, hunger, financial problems, etc. ) This trip has made me accept what I have and appreciate it; savior it.

I hope that the kids will grow up with the sense of security and familial identity that a home brings. As for me, my expectation about what a group of students can accomplish in three days was blown away. I didn't think we would be able to finish, but seeing the nine pillars go up on the second day practically flipped a switch in my head that told me that building that house was far from impossible. And it was.

I think an air conditioning system can really improve the living quality of that family. By building this house, I learned that although nowadays the whole world is fully developed, there are still people who live in a house where there are no TV, internet, AC. I hope the house that we built can help this family lead a better life. People always need an awesome signature...

I hope that our effort and individual contributions to this building project brought some amount of happiness to the family. They would be protected from the changing weather and realize that they do not stand alone in their struggle against poverty, people like the VBC and volunteers like us are able to help and provide them with shelter and basic life necessities. With the improved living conditions and slightly better life qualities, I hope that the children of that household can thrive through education and benefit the community. I was really impressed by the work that we’ve accomplished in the limited time we had, it taught me the importance of unified teamwork and perseverance.

I wish that the house we built can provide the poor family a warm place to stay. It can protect the family from wind and rain. Also, the donations including books and pens will help the children to learn. The service changed me physically that I learned how to cut woods and get rid of the sharp corners of the wood.

I hope the house itself and the food and household items we donated could reduce the family's burden of making a living, maybe they could have some extra money to let their children receive some education, or maybe our action could've motivated the family to do so. Their eldest daughter seemed really pretty and smart to me, so I really want her to go to school and help her family move out from the simple simple house we built and have a much much better life. From this service project, I learnt that when we wanted to accomplish something, we can. At first I thought we are just a group of elder children, how are we able to really help a family and finish a house for them? In addition to that, I felt like there will be some students just fooling around and doing nothing, and even myself may give up on it because of the hot weather. But the fact was that none of us went horseplaying or fooling around and left our job, because we said we were going to finish a house for the family in three days, we did it.

I hope that the new house can make the family feel comfortable and safe. Accomplishing this building a house service project mainly changed me by providing the importance of being positive, patience, and perseverance. While we all worked together, we had to patient and work hard to build the house with sawing, hammering, chiseling, and drilling the woods. In this process, staying positive by imagining the final house we would make really helped to maintain the work hard.

For me I hope that the family which we built the house for will feel safer, more comfortable, and live a happier life. And that they would be able to stop worrying about the risk of having leaking roofs, water flooding in, and etc things. I am really glad we were able to help and support that family, and able to give them a new, and better home to live in. And for me, I think that this activity we did, or building project we did has really helped me understand how hard these people's lives are, and especially how hard it is to saw wood. xD It also helped me understand that sometimes it takes more than only a one and sometimes even group of people to accomplish something, that might sometimes is easier said than done. I really enjoyed building the house and helping this family, and sawing the wood xD
