I hope the new house we built for the family could be steadier, drier in the rainy season, and bigger than the old one. I think it is a really unique experience to be in the construction group because not everybody could experience what it's like to be in a construction group.

I personally believe that we've helped a lot in improving the family's life by building the house. The quality of life in general has improved because by building this house for them I believe that their life would be more enjoyable. And it was also a very big step to improving their life. I personally think that this service project was a very valuable experience for me because by actually looking at the family, they really literally had nothing, so it made me thankful for what I have right now.

What do you hope will change/improve for the family who will live in the house we helped to build? How has this service project changed you? I hope that the house will give the family more of a sense of security. I also hope that with this very important basic necessity for life taken care of, the family can focus on other things to improve their standard of living such as education for the kids. I hope the family will be able to sleep without worrying about rain and other natural things they were not protected from while living in the straw shed. I hope that daughter can come home from school This project really put things in perspective and I have become more thankful for the things I used to take for granted. It also made me want to return to Cambodia or other less developed countries in the future to help the less privileged. Sure, I might not be able to build a whole house but I am sure there are ways I can help.
