Today I learned that Cambodia's dry season is really humid and there are very many foreign tourists at Cambodia. Also, I learned that the Angkor wat temples face towards the west, while normally other temples face towards the east.

All students please reply. Include a picture if you are able. It does not seem possible to attach a picture from a mobile device, only from a laptop. Today I learned that the houses float on the water so they can be moved to shallower waters during the wet season when the rivers over flood. I also learned how Cambodians are really respectful and shut off their boat engines when they go past another so they don't splash the muddy water on others. -MJ And Jackson learned that Pol Pot went to university in the West. ( he was unable to access the website )

The most important thing that I learned today is that it is extremely important to have good team work. Any anger or disagreement may cause problems. The work of kayaking required teamwork from two coordinated people. I'm glad that I made it back successfully with my partner. I also learned a lot about Cambodian history. Reading about the genocide on books isn't shocking as hearing it from the trip advisor. How the genocide affected Cambodian culture really surprised me. It makes me respect this country even more.

Today, I learned about the graphic details of the Khemer Rouge. The Buddhist temple that we brieftly stopped by use to be a storage space during the reign of the Khemer Rouge. Our guide shed light on the horrific details and provided insight to the atrocities that the Khmer Rouge committed. Such as grabbing children by their ankles and beating them against a metal ring on a tree, forcing marriage and reproduction, brainwashing and turning the younger generation against older generations to enforce control, using various torturing methods on prisoners... Pol Pot attempted to disrupt all pre-existing social structures and hierarchies in order to create a single equal class, and he did so by seperating families, confiscating possessions, and attacking the literate. It's saddening that the rural population initailly supported Pol Pot, in hopes that they were creating a better tomorrow, but resulting in such tragedy and lasting trauma.

One of the things I learned today is that there is a significant gap between rich and poor. Some families, like those living in floating village we visited today, have only about 500 dollars as their income per year. Yet there are also people who are able to go shopping in some buildings with nice decorations. I don't have pictures because I dropped my phone into water just now:(

I learned many important things today, although the temperature today is extremely hot. I saw animals today, dogs, monkeys, elephants. One thing I learned is don't feed these animals. I visitted Angker Wat, I saw status, temples, extremely high trees that grow on the temple. I was really inperisive. But the mot importsnt lesson I learned as if you don'know how to ride a bike, you can't ride with yourfriedns through rainforest angker wat, although I wason the bus,I really want to sweat with everyone on theirbike. I love challenge andI love to challenge my limits becuae I'll feel pround if I overcome my wicknesses.

One thing I learnt today is that here are a group of people living on "mobile houses" that float in different directions in different seasons. Although Cambodia is a conservative country, I've noticed when kayaking today that in the floating villages, it is okay to let young kids running around naked. The two school sessions in the morning and afternoon also sounds really cool to me, and I kind of wished to have the same school system so I don't need to get up early in the morning. Also, I've learnt some interesting and meaningful hand gestures of the Buddha and the Apsara.

Today I learnt that is the cultural of Cambodia through listening to the cultural revolution in the temple from the leader. And the thing that I pay attention to is when we came out from the car, children took photos. I just thought that it was a remember, but when we came back to bus, photos were used to sell. Although countryside Cambodians lived in poor lives, they still can found there way of living.

One thing that I learned today is the group working. Like the kayaking. I worked with leo. At first, we just went around but then we found the key. So we kayaked very fast. That was the team work.

Something interesting I learned today is that on the Tonel Sap river, there are floating villages built on bamboo rafts. These villages are usually poor due to their minimal income from fishing. I also learned that around the river, you can find many wildlife such as boa constrictors and turtles. When you're attacked by a boa constrictor, bite o r hurt its tail, and it will let go. During kayaking, I learned that teamwork is important, and that even though at times it might seem difficult, we can always cooperate with others, help each others, and get through the obstacle.
