My two highlight of the were visiting the killing field and teaching local students in ABO school. Because visiting the killing field let me know the history of the Khmer rough. And that was the first time for me to teach students. I knew teaching and learning are corresponding. During teaching students, things I learned from their were they really enjoy the class and like to know knowledges. So learning new things are happy. And I also know how to be patient with students and explain some new things for them again and again. I am really instructive. In a word, awesome!

I enjoyed every moment of this trip so it is suffering for me to only choose two parts. I especially enjoy the construction project and the circus. For the construction project, I had so much fun and learned a lot. On the first day of our construction project, I saw a bunch of logs and boards and sharp saws lying on the ground. Since I'm not a strong girl and I've never touch a saw before, I thought what I could only do was to stand beside people and cheer for them. But it turned out that I'm pretty good at sawing boards, and I had so much fun encouraging and working with my small construction team. On the following few days, I learned a lot of woodwork such as how to hammer nails into boards and making the window. From making the window, I learned that the measure of lengths must be 100% accurate and the nails must be hammer in correctly, or the window will not fit and people could get hurt when touching it. Building the house taught me to be careful and considerate when helping others. For the circus, I learned a lot from the story of Sokha, which is a story of a girl who survived from the Cambodia genocide. Since we had done some research of Cambodia, I had no problem with understanding the story. There were a lot of pathos in the performance, and these are something we cannot learn from research. I think it is a powerful way to learn the culture of a country through seeing the story displays in front of you. It was a great performance, and I was really impressed.

The two highlights of the trip were: The First one is the bike riding, because we wait for each other when we are cycling, and we rode almost for half day. We also cycled to many temples. It was very challenging, but I enjoyed very much. The second one is house building, because we have so many teams working together, also we helped the family to build a new house. This gave me a huge happiness for helping them.

I find it really had to have to choose only two of my favorite parts of the trip when i enjoyed everything. But if I must then I shall choose the night we spoke with Yut (ex monk) and the house blessing ceremony.
I really enjoyed talking with Yut for many reasons but I think one of the biggest is that I was able to connect with a culture that I have never really been able to connect with in the past. After talking with Yut I realized how many similarities there are between Buddhism and my own faith and ethics. Because of this I felt a strong connection between Buddhism in general and with Cambodian culture.
I feel that for the house blessing ceremony there are two major reasons why I enjoyed more than other things we did. First, it was a moment when myself and all the other building students could look back and be proud of our work and to see how our work will make the family's life better. Second reason why I enjoyed it so much was because I loved listening to the monks chanting the blessings over the house. I thought that was rich with culture and a pleasant sound.

I enjoyed every moment of this trip. I enjoyed interacting with the children at the school and at the house building site. I developed a bond with one of the family's daughters which made me quite emotional every time we left the site. I also really enjoyed the circus. Not only were the performers talented and well-trained, but they were amazing actors as well. I was not expecting the circus to have a plot/storyline.
Another thing I enjoyed was getting to hold a snake after kayaking, I love snakes.

My two highlights of the trip were preforming the two songs that we taught the people in my class, I enjoyed it because they looked so happy while singing and going to the monorail because it really drove home the realness of the destruction that the Khmer Rough brought about. It also made me think really hard about why someone would do something like that, and how if the wrong person gets in power it could ruin millions of peoples lives.

The two highlights of my trips were the Q&A session with Yut, and building the house. I loved the Q&A session with Yut because it really opened my eyes to what life, happiness, and ultimate goals were all about. It gave me a genuine explanation of what Buddhism actually was, broadening my understanding of it. The house building experience was also a highlight because it showed me how poor the people were, and it was nice for me to help them get back on their feet. It was also fun since it taught me how to build stuff.

My two Highlights for the trip was that I taught Kids and I rode in the mountains. It was my first time to ride a bike in the mountains. It was hot in the sun but I really had a great time. I also taught the kids in a local school, it was so poor that it don't even have a computer. I learnt that how precious my life was and how hard their's are.

This Cambodia trip was really fun for me and I think it is hard for me to choose which things I love most about the trip. My favourite part of this trip would be right after I got on the bus after we finished building the house. On the bus, when I looked back at the completed house, I felt so happy and proud of myself and everyone who helped build the house. Similarly, my other favourite part of the trip was the morning after the bike ride when my muscles were sore from biking the previous day. The soreness in my muscles reminded me of the hard work that I did and also reminds me that I can do anything if I put my mind into it.

My favorite two parts of the trip is kayaking and teaching. From kayaking, I really enjoy the feeling one the river. I can relax a lot but also I need to row hard. It's my first time to row on the river. I really want to do it again. It's also my first time to teach those students English. I taught them numbers and animals or tutor them. We have a lot of fun when we had a conversation. I learnt a lot from this trip. Those students make pictures for us. I was touched by them. I want to have a chance to go back to see them again.

My favorite two parts are house building and kayaking. I think house building is good because we can help them to live in better environment. Kayaking is a really interesting activity even though my partner and I are not really know how to kayaking but finally we learned how to kayaking. If I have chance to kayaking in future I can do it better.

Please include your two favorite parts of the trip. The two parts that is really exciting for me was to ride bike and teaching. Because ride bike in the forest is really relaxing for me. I can see many landscape that I can't see it in the city. I experienced lots of natural things and three grand temple. Another part is teaching. It let realize it is hard to be a good teach and it's hard to communicate with the students. It's also let me realize that I should increase some skills

For this trip two of my favorite activities were building and kayaking. The building project was exciting I never thought we can build a house in just three days! Because of this experience I got to know a lot of people that volunteer to build houses such as Mr.Jason and Mr.Mark and I'm happy to be with them. These volunteers have will power and we should look up to them. Until now the VBC volunteers have built 74 houses! We kayaked on April Fool's day. God pulled a prank on me and Nick because there was too much mud in the river, and it caused me and Nick were stuck in the mud for a long time. When we were yelling to ask for help, three boats just passed by us and the people on the boat gave us a thumbs up and went away. Finally there was an old man who got into the water and helped me and Nick get out of the mud hill So this is my crazy trip!
