One thing I told my parents the most is the living situation of the Cambodians especially the poor family we helped and the children selling articles. Children in that family do not have shoes. They do not have toys to play. The house they live is poor and unstable. Six people have to live in such a small house. There are holes on the "wall". I could feel how strong the wind was on the field. That leaves a profound emotion in my heart.

I think the most important thing that I would want to share would be the fun things that I experienced and some thoughts that I thought about during the working, playing, and eating parts of the trip. I think its really important to share that because I think my mom would probably like to hear what I thought about it and see the trip from my own point of view and the pleasant things that I have done and experienced.

One thing that I had been thinking about for a long time was what's the most important thing in a person's life. When I saw Cambodian people was smiling to us,I couldnot feel anything about poor. However I felt they were the richest guys in the world. Truely, they don't have much money, they are poor in material but rich in spirit. So I realize that the most important thing in my life should be happy and optimistic because the smiling faces are the most beautiful flower in the world.

One thing I learned from Cambodia and I shared with my family is the positive attitudes of Cambodians. Many people in the world consider Cambodia as under-developed country with people living poor lives, and that is not wrong. However, most of Cambodians I met showed me that being poor is equivalent to being week, and it does not mean that they can be disrespected by others. Cambodians want people to respect their culture and religion. When we were visiting temples, there are stick rules that require visitors to cover their shoulders, knees, and toes. If we are not dressing properly, we will be consider as being rude and disrespectful to the culture, and will not be allow to visit the temples. This suggests that even it is a poor country, it has its cultural dignity and requires the esteem of people. When we were visiting the family and the school, the people does not feel shamed of being poor because they had tried their best to seek for better life. Even though they are poor, they gain respects by working or studying hard. The children in the orphanage also led poor lives, but they gain respect by earning money from the artifacts of animal skin carving. And the local tour guides introduce the culture to us confidently also showed citizens' prides of the country. I could see that even Cambodia is not a well-developed country as China, the people there still have positive attitudes towards their culture and lives. I believe that their strong minds will be great power that can develop Cambodia into a better country.

One thing that I want to share with my family is Cambodia's living condition. Some places are very dirty, also children wears dirty clothes, even with holes on their clothes, which shows they have been wearing that clothes for a while. Something that I think is very different between the Cambodian students and us is our school time. Some Cambodian students goes to school before lunch but some students only goes to school in the afternoon.

I learned that Cambodia is much more impoverished than I'd originally thought. I think it is important to bring awareness to countries and people in need all over the globe so that they can get help. Many people living outside of Siem Reap, Cambodia make very little money every year yet they have learned how to live simple and frugal lives based around their annual incomes.

I think the most important thing to share with my family is how money does not buy happiness. From this trip, I saw some of the happiest children in the world, even though they were really poor. It taught me that in the "rich" world, people always take things for granted and never truly appreciate its true form, and worth. They always need more and more things to satisfy themselves, and don't appriciate simple things in life. In the "poor" world, people never take things for granted and are happiest with the smallest act of kindness, and the simple things in life.

I guess that this would be how hard the life is over there. On the first day of the trip, as we went biking in the mountains, I found a kid have no shoes walking in the mountains and he had only one foot. I feel so bad about him and U suddenly felt that the life I have now is so precious , I can go to school and I have feet. I need to start to feel the beautiful life over here and I should be happy everyday and overcome the obstacles.

I learned that anyone can be happy. When I first arrived in Cambodia and saw the poor living conditions. I thought that the locals must be miserable. Not only were the locals skinny, the cows were skinny too. Despite this, the local Cambodians seem very happy. From this I learned that no matter what happens in life, it is up to me to decide whether I want to be happy or not.

One thing I want to share with my family and friends is the kids in orphanage. When we hear the word orphan, lots of people will think they are poor. But those kids show us the different side as we think. They have a skill to make cowhide art. It's so beautiful and not easy to make. But they use the tools really well to carve. One little boy carved my name on the heart shape and star. He gave it to me. I was moved by him.

When I build house for the family I think maybe we can improve their life quality, but actually we cannot really change their life if they never change themselves. But someone said maybe we can change their life that this might be their first time to see Chinese, American, and Korean to work together to build house for them. One of our leader said most of them never gone to the city since they born maybe because they don't have money or no traffic tools but the main reason is they don't want to. So after this trip I always think if people never go outside they will never know what's the world looks like.

What did you learn about Cambodia that you think is important to share with your family and friends? Consider all of the many experiences we have and the things you saw! The important things I want to share with my family and friends is be optimistic. Because I saw the family we built house for. They're very poor, but they're are optimistic, they sitting together smile at each other. They're always happy that really make me think a lot. How can I be unhappy.

What did you learn about Cambodia that you think is important to share with your family and friends? Consider all of the many experiences we have and the things you saw! The thing I learned is to cherish our existing life. Because I saw many Combodian kid whose age seem same as me. They should work in school in that age but I saw them in the night market and many landscape to help their parent to sell goods. I think they are pitiful that they are forced by life. Thus, from this perspective Iam lucky.

This is thee first time that I help the others by building house. At the beginning, I think I will be excited by build a house which I never did before. But when I really finish the house building, I noticed that, thing that makes me exciting is not build a house, it's the happiness of helping the others. From this trip. I noticed that we care about achievement is not because achievement is an achievement, is because it can affect the others. Same thing for us, build the house in combodia is not the most important thing for us, or for the family, thing that is important is they can feel that they are not alone, although they are poor, there are still a lot of people in the world who care about them. I think that make the whole trip become significative.
